My Istria is discovered on foot—and through its flavors.
I’m Rossana—a licensed tour guide, historian, and olive oil sommelier. For more than 25 years, I’ve guided travelers through Pula, Rovinj, Poreč, and across Istria in English, Italian, and Croatian. I love grand history, but also dialects, family recipes, markets, and stories that never reach the guidebooks. Ask me about olive oil and we may stop a little longer than planned. The best tours always begin with a good conversation.
I also lead multi-day trips in Italy and teach on the tourist-guide training course at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism ‘Dr. Mijo Mirković’ in Pula.

I don’t repeat the same lecture for every group. I create connections between what we see and what interests you—ancient Rome, Adriatic identity, olive oil, wine, architecture, or everyday life.
My Istrian olive oil project
Istria is also understood through taste.
As an olive oil sommelier, I create tastings that help guests recognize the aromas, varieties, and quality of Istrian extra virgin olive oil. The oil becomes a story of landscape, family, and the work behind every harvest.

History becomes accessible when it can be touched, heard, and shared.
I have completed specific training in guiding blind and visually impaired people. For a group from several European countries, I created a sensory tour of Pula, told through touch, scents, music, and the flavors of Istria. This time, in Piazza Foro in Pula, we tasted sweet fritole.
At the end, they said with joy: “It can be done!” To me, those words express what a tour should be: a bridge between people, memory, and emotion.
